Fairy Hill
Set amidst 24 acres of parkland on the Gower peninsular, this is an ideal spot for walkers and hikers and so may it be as you will need that hike in order to wear off the excesses of food and wine available at this luxury eight bedroomed hotel so beloved of Hollywood stars of Welsh descent. In what is almost de rigeur for a Country House Hotel, you practically need a degree in orientation to find it, but at the end, it is all worthwhile.

The cuisine is good solid country house fare... but for that see...

The accommodation is a delight. A lot of thought has been put into making it as civilised a place to stay as possible and there is little to fault here. A personal criticism is that my bath was not big enough to wallow in, but this might not worry anybody else.

The usual mod. coms. in the room, satellite TV, Hi-Fi, etc. makes it a pleasure to stay there although the public rooms are also well-appointed and comfortable. A plus point is an Internet point, so that you can keep abreast with your junk e-mails when you are away, but bear in mind that you will be charged full hotel telephone rates when using it.
...Breakfast is very civilised, with lots of organic choices (if that is what turns you on), sugar free items for the health conscious, and, of course the ‘Full Welsh’ (if that is what turns you on!) Again a tendency to overcook prevailed (my sausage was virtually cremated), but, all in all, fine.

And that sums it up. A good experience in one of the most civilised places to stay.
